Red Velvet Cheesecake

A spin on a classic cheesecake, using red food colouring and a hint of cocoa powder to give a delicious vanilla/chocolate taste.

It is flavoured with our Sugar and Crumbs Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar and Natural Flavoured Cocoa Powder.

What is Red Velvet Cheesecake?

This cheesecake has a oreo biscuit base which compliments the red food colouring and also the velvet vanilla flavouring.  Delicious for any occasion.

Ingredients

14 Oreo Biscuits ( save one or two for decoration)
45g Unsalted Butter – Melted
100g Sugar and Crumbs Velvet Vanilla Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar
200g Cream Cheese
300ml Double Cream
1 Tbsp Sugar and Crumbs Natural Non-Flavoured Cocoa Powder
Red Food Colouring 
 
 
For the Decoration
 
200ml Double Cream
2 Tbsp Of Sugar and Crumbs Natural Flavoured Velvet Vanilla Icing Sugar 
 
 

Instructions

  1.  Crush the oreos until fine crumbs, mix in the melted butter and combine.  Take a 6 or 7 inch tin and transfer the oreo crumb and spread out evenly.  Set aside.
  2. In a clean mixer add the double cream and whisk until starting to thicken, add in the icing sugar and whisk in, next add the cream cheese and a good quirt or the red food colouring.  Combine until thick and creamy.
  3. Pour the creamy mixture over the top of the oreo base and spread evenly and smooth.
  4. Make the Cream by whisking until starting to thicken, add the icing sugar and then whisk until creamy.
  5. Pipe onto the cheesecake as desired, then crush the remaining oreos and sprinkle over the top.

Store in the fridge and eat within 3 days.
