Cinnamon Churros with Chocolate Orange Dip

Easy home baked Churros you can make and enjoy with the family.

Cinnamon Churros with Chocolate Orange Dip

To make the churros:

1. Combine the  70g of Sugar and 30g of the Sugar and Crumbs  Cinnamon Swirl Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar (or any flavour of your choice) together in a bowl and set aside.

2. Line a plate with kitchen paper and fill a medium heavy based pan with the vegetable oil so it is 3- 4 inches deep. Please make sure you have 3 inches at least above the oil to stop it from boiling over.

3. In another small saucepan add the water, 1 and 1/2 Tablespoons of sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Place over a medium heat and whisk. As it starts to heat up stir in the flour and keep stirring until it forms a dough ball.

4. Turn on the oil pan to a medium heat and heat the oil up to 375 F, 190 C ( keep an eye on it, you should never be far away).

5. Transfer the dough to a cloth or reusable piping bag fitted with a star tip.

6. Carefully pipe the dough into the oil in lines, using scissors to cut at about 4 inch sizes, to release into the oil. Pipe 3 at a time and cook until golden brown.

7. Take out using tongs and pat with the kitchen rol. Roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

To make the Chocolate Dip

8. Add the cocoa powder, sugar and water to a saucepan and place over a medium heat. Bring to the boil and stir until all the ingredients have dissolved.

9. Take off the heat and stir in the butter until melted. Leave in the pan to cool and firm up before giving another stir.

10. Transfer to a dipping pot and enjoy with your churros.
